We contracted John DeCarli to build our cottage. He was with us from the beginning to the end. He was wonderful to deal with throughout the project. He made sure everything moved along as planned. His trades were great to work with. He did not let anything go through until we were all satisfied with the work. His foreman was a great asset to the build. He made sure everything was done right. We were only able to come up to the cottage once or twice a month while it was being built. We had full confidence in John that everything would be done right. He always gave us all of the options in order to stay in our budget. His organization, honesty and integrity were very muchappreciated. We would highly recommend John DeCarli for any project. When DeCarli Contractors converted our attached double garage into a beautiful great room, the compliment we most appreciated when the job was done, was that it looked as if it had always been that way. That’s what we were going for. When DeCarli Contractors returned several years later to replace all the flooring on our main level with hardwood and ceramics, the job was completed in time agreed upon, there was minimal disruption in the house, and I sincerely appreciated how neat and tidy the workers were. Again, job well done!And last year DeCarli Contractors designed and completed my ‘dream bathroom’. We were thrilled with the results! DeCarli Contractors built our home three years ago. Our plan was a difficult one, but they were up to the challenge and worked closely with us. They were professional, creative, and had many good ideas that improved our design considerably. In the summer of 2013, John DeCarli and his company repaired a second story cement balcony attached to our home and installed a large, pressed concrete patio under and beyond the balcony area. Throughout the whole process, John and his team worked in a professional, friendly manner. We were delighted at the outstanding quality of workmanship, the discussions related to progress, the coordination of John’s team, the cleanliness and safety of the work site each evening, and especially the finished product. John was attentive, honest and direct in all aspects of the project. We have the highest respect for his work ethic, skill, and rapport with his clients.

We were looking to build our dream cottage and being from Toronto we needed a contractor we could really trust. We met with several contractors and began to get frustrated because none seemed to be organized, customer friendly, able to work with our designer and detail oriented. All of which were critical for us given the scale of our project and fact we would not be up for weeks on end; we had to “trust” our contractor with what was going on and quality of work being completed. I have heard multiple nightmare stories with people in this situation. John was recommended to us and once we met, we opted to go with DeCarli Contracting. The absolute best decision we made. The quality of his foreman, crew and trades are second to none. Never once did I have a problem paying DeCarli because they were fully transparent in their billing and if something did not seem right, it was a very rational and fact based discussion. In the end, they were on budget, on time, fully transparent, quality exceeded our expectations and an absolute pleasure to work with. Most importantly, they earned a level of trust with our family from start to finish that we will use DeCarli for all other projects we have. Frankly, I have no idea why you would not want to use DeCarli on any project.

I had the pleasure of working with John and his team for the first time this year on a cottage renovation. John’s organizational and communication skills in addition to his professional attitude ensured the project ran smoothly.He provided competitive budgets and kept my client up to date on spending by tracking all work completed. He provided realistic timelines, progress reports and worked hard to meet all goals. He explained options when necessary and how our decisions will impact cost and timing. His engagement throughout the process made sure that the end result met our clients expectations in terms of quality, and price. Bottom line, John delivered. I was impressed by John’s eye for design and passion for making his clients happy. Would I recommend him to other clients? Without hesitation. Would I be happy to work with him again on future projects, most definitely.
